Dewsbury Midland

Our award winning finescale 00 gauge layout Dewsbury Midland is well-known on the exhibition circuit. It is operated either in the BR steam or blue diesel period. At our 2006 Exhibition, Membership Secretary Greg Mape is pretending to understand how to operate the controls.

Below is something which you do not see very often - Dewsbury's storage roads almost completely empty.

Dewsbury's main control panel. It is rumoured that, if a fault develops, there is only one person in the whole world who understands how to fix it.
On 10th August 2007 the Society had a running session. Once Chairman Russell Hatt had removed his East German stock, BR blue diesels resumed possession, Russell reverting to his role of photographer.
At the monthly meeting on 8th December 2007, John Sherratt photographed an unusual visitor.......
....and David Moore photographed a few others. How did Bob Harper sneak a USA train in?

The latest development is a working signal gantry which straddles the viaduct next to the mill building, photographed in December 2008 by John Sherratt.
